Ryan Sass

I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Ever since I was a young teenager making FreeWebs websites for video game clans and family, I have had a passion for everything computers. I am currently in term 3 of the Business Information Technology program at Red River College, heading into my Co-Op term. In terms of career aspirations, I hope to one day be a software/application developer.

Hobbies

When I am not coding or studying, you can often find me outdoors. I love hiking, biking, swimming, and fishing. Growing up, I was a hockey player. I started skating and playing organized hockey when I was 6 years old. I also played a lot of Lacrosse. Through team sports, I learned the value of teamwork and sportsmanship. I made many friends along the way that to this day still stay in touch with.

Experience

Prior to attending Red River, I was working in a junior role under a full stack developer at IdealPOS. As a point of sales company, the main focus was the food industry. I was responsible of a variety of areas including creating E-Commerce websites for beer vendors around Manitoba to sell and deliver their wares during the pandemic. These websites consisted of AWS hosting, WordPress front end, and ran payment systems using Moneris.
My education at Red River has supplied me with a wide array of knowledge in multiple fields. From ASP.NET using C# to network trouble shooting and security. From SQL to HTML and CSS/BootStrap. I have come such a long way and can't wait to impress my future employer with my quick learning ability.
